Unlocking a smart and flexible energy future

Citizens Advice has just published the findings of two qualitative projects conducted by Collaborate Research.  The first explored the barriers some people experience in interacting with the smart home technologies that will play a key role in enabling domestic consumers to use energy more flexibly.  The second looked at the challenges facing households which are less able to change their energy usage behaviour, for example due to a health-related need for energy at home.

Citizens Advice drew on this evidence to produce their own policy report in which they make recommendations for how to ensure smart energy flexibility plays a meaningful role in achieving net zero.  They also produced a practical guide to making smart technology more inclusive.
