How microbusinesses engage with the energy market

We are delighted to have worked with Ofgem again, this time on qualitative research with microbusinesses (businesses with fewer than 10 employees).  The aims of the research were to:

  • understand how microbusinesses search for and choose energy deals, and what promotes or impedes this process; and
  • explore how well the CMA’s Price Transparency Remedy (which aims to make it easier for them to access to pricing information) achieves its objective of improving the search and comparison process for microbusinesses.

The research has been published and is available here.  The evidence provided has informed the Ofgem’s evaluation of the price transparency remedy.

Client Feedback
“Collaborate worked with us on a qualitative project that required them to find a specific target audience in a short period of time, and they delivered to the brief perfectly. The insights gleaned from the research are invaluable; highlighting exactly where we need to take action and how we could shape our actions. Monique and Katie are thoughtful, approachable and intelligent researchers who think through projects so that contingencies are planned for and the research delivers to the brief. It was a pleasure to work with them.”
