Consumer choice in the low carbon transition

The Project

Consumer choice in the low carbon transition

Our Approach

Citizens Advice asked Collaborate Research to determine what choices consumers expect and need in the transition to low carbon home heating given the UK Government’s target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The research comprised a rapid evidence assessment, stakeholder interviews and qualitative/deliberative research with more than 60 consumers across England and Wales. We used a number of techniques to ensure participants could meaningfully engage with the topic and produced a video of the research sessions to help bring the findings to life. The research is due to be published shortly and it will be used by Citizens Advice to support its policy and campaigning work in this area.

A report based on our research is now published, along with edited video clips of participants which help bring the findings to life.

Client Feedback

“We commissioned Collaborate to undertake research into consumer choice and low carbon heating. Throughout the entire process it was a real pleasure to work with Monique and Katie on this project. They were incredibly organised and thorough, taking great care to fully understand our requirements and suggesting techniques that would ensure we had the best quality outputs. Their suggestion of filming our focus groups has been a real eye-opener and added so much more richness to our understanding and an added output to share with stakeholders. I have no hesitation in recommending Collaborate as a research agency and partner, and I hope we get to work together again in the future.”
